Eco-City Builder
A downloadable game for Windows
Eco-City Builder is a serious city building game designed to enhance people's knowledge of the environment in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
Players must manage a delicate balance between economic growth and ecological catastrophes, using eco-points as a non-renewable currency, representing the city's ecology. In order to win the game, all of the city's objectives must be completed within a set amount of time without using up all available eco-points.
The game's effectiveness in teaching about the environment has been evaluated in two research articles linked below:
- Mediating Environmental Consciousness and Knowledge with a Serious Game: Determining Boundaries Experimentally
- Improving Environmental Knowledge with a Serious Game: An experimental study
The game is localized and available for download. Translations outside of English and German are performed using an AI toolset, and the following languages are supported: German, English, Turkish, French, Indonesian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
Please note that this game is a prototype and is no longer actively developed. As a result, you may encounter bugs or balancing issues while playing.
Thank you for reading and playing. Stay safe!
